Bolger's Plan No Good for Michigan

Investing in our transportation infrastructure is critical, but it must NOT be funded by diverting sorely needed funds from our schools and cities.
The Senate has put forward a plan that will provide $1.2 billion in new revenue for our infrastructure. It has broad, bipartisan support. By comparison, the Speaker's "plan" robs Peter to pay Paul. It's nothing but an accounting gimmick. Rather than provide sorely needed new revenue to fund our state's crumbling infrastructure, the Speaker's plan diverts $750 million from schools, $100 million from communities, and $48 million from public transit to pay for roads.
We need to get this done, but it's just as important that we get it done right.
